Why Restore Terrazzo

Terrazzo is one of the most valuable and durable flooring materials ever installed. It’s poured, custom-made, and built to last a lifetime. When it looks dull or worn, it usually doesn’t need to be replaced—it needs to be restored correctly.

Value

Protect a Premium Floor

Restoration saves original terrazzo that was designed to last. You keep the character, color, and aggregate that make the floor unique.

Longevity

Floors That Last Forever

With proper maintenance and periodic polishing, terrazzo can literally last for generations. It doesn’t wear out—it just loses its shine.

Appearance

Bring Back the Shine

We remove scratches, wear, and old coatings, then mechanically polish the stone so it reflects light again—matte, satin, or high-gloss.

Cost & Waste

Cheaper Than Replacement

Restoring terrazzo is usually far less expensive than tearing it out and sending tons of material to the landfill.

Our Terrazzo Restoration Process

Every terrazzo floor is different. We look at damage, coatings, repairs, and your goals first—then match the right diamonds, repair materials, and protection to the floor.

1

Inspect & Protect

We walk the floor, identify issues (scratches, coatings, cracks), and protect walls, baseboards, and adjacent surfaces.

2

Deep Clean & Strip Coatings

We remove old waxes, sealers, and topical coatings, then deep clean to see the true condition of the terrazzo beneath.

3

Repair Chips, Pits & Cracks

Chips, pits, and small missing areas are filled with compatible, color-matched materials so the floor looks uniform again.

4

Hone & Flatten

Diamond honing removes scratches, wear patterns, and light lippage so the floor feels smoother and more even underfoot.

5

Polish to Your Chosen Sheen

We polish through progressive grits to dial in the finish—matte, satin, or high-gloss mirror, depending on your space and goals.

6

Protect & Maintain

We apply the appropriate protection for your environment and give you a simple maintenance plan so the floor stays looking great.

We don’t just wax terrazzo—the shine is created mechanically inside the stone, not painted on top.

Terrazzo FAQs

Does my terrazzo need to be replaced?

Most of the time, no. Even terrazzo that looks dull, scratched, or yellowed under old wax can be restored with proper honing, polishing, and repair.

Is terrazzo restoration dusty or messy?

We use dust control and professional equipment to keep dust and slurry managed. Surfaces are masked and protected as needed during the process.

How long does terrazzo restoration take?

Smaller residential projects are often 1–3 days, depending on condition and square footage. Commercial projects vary based on size, access, and repair needs.

How do I maintain terrazzo after you restore it?

Regular dust mopping and pH-neutral cleaner is usually all that’s required. We’ll give you a simple care guide based on your space and traffic.

Can you fix cracks, pits, and chips?

Yes. We repair many small defects with compatible, color-matched materials so they blend in with the surrounding floor.
